Event Recap: Market Days

At the annual Northalsted Market Days, Midwest’s largest two-day street fair, Found volunteers reached out to thousands of people to spread the word about rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing for homeless dogs and cats. The overwhelmingly positive response from the crowd allowed Found to raise vital funds to support our mission as well as connect with many new people who had yet to hear of Found Chicago.

At the booth, volunteers sold t-shirts, collected donations, and sold countless tickets for the four great raffles being held to benefit Found that Saturday and Sunday. Fest goers were drawn to the colorful display of raffle items, which included a chance to win 4 Sox Tickets with food and parking at the game, a Pet Photo Shoot, 3 days of dog daycare at Stay Dog Hotel, and a coffee lovers pack from Julius Meinl. All proceeds of the raffle and t-shirt sales go directly to helping Found’s rescued pets.

Along with raising funds to support Found, volunteers met many animal lovers, even some from far-reaching parts of the country, who came to enjoy the fest and were excited to see Found speaking out for the welfare of cats and dogs. Pet owners and their dogs stopped by the booth to grab a handout with details of Found’s highly anticipated Day of the Dog event this October. Many people were also excited to comment on Found’s recent feature segment on ABC 7 news, an endeavor which has brought Found’s name into the forefront of Chicagoland animal rescue.
