A Day in the Life of Jackson

Jackson has been with Found since March and been through a lot of training and rehabilitation during that time. He was in very bad shape when we pulled him from Animal Care and Control, only a couple days before he was slated to be destroyed. He has had a few setbacks but Found is dedicated to working with him through it all. We thought we would update everyone on his progress and show you a day in the life of Jackson!

7:00am: Jackson is taken outside for a potty break.

7:15am: Jackson returns to his room that was specially made for him and his trainers to work with him. Jackson was having trouble in the main kennel area so we moved him to a quieter room that is all his.

7:45am: Jackson is hand-fed his breakfast. We hand feed him because he has food issues. He was starved and still thinks he needs to ‘survive’ here. We hand feed him so that he knows we will provide him food.

9:30-11am: One of Jackson’s trainers, Curtis Scott, comes to work with him. Today Jackson is working on leash walking and giving up his bone to us.

12-1pm: Jackson’s in-house handler, Fabian Romo, takes Jackson for a walk and some one-on-one continued training. Fabian takes Jackson through an agility course to get him working.

3-5pm: Jackson is taken to the large outside dog area overlooking the river to run off some of his energy and to spend some time relaxing outdoors.

5pm: Jackson is hand-fed his dinner outside to help him with his food issues.

6pm: Jackson hangs out in the Found office before class.

7pm: Jackson joins his pit bull buddies and goes to Pit Bulls Only training with Jeff Jenkins to get him working and thinking.

8:30pm: Jackson is ready for bed! He returns to his room with a bone and says goodnight!
