Mission

In 2009, Chicago alone destroyed over 10,000 dogs and cats who were healthy, or had a treatable behavioral or medical condition because no one was willing to give them the extra rehabilitation and care they needed. As a no-kill center, Found is diligently working to change that through our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home.

Found is a 501(c)3 non-profit rescue and re-homing center focused on individualized medical and behavioral rehabilitation for homeless dogs and cats that would otherwise be euthanized.

Through this vital work, Found:

• saves lives

• enhances the human-animal bond

• ensures successful and long-term re-homing

• gives back to the community through humane education programs

Found’s rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing programs stem from experienced animal handlers, behaviorists and proven practices established at Found’s sister, for profit organization, Stay. To read about the complete history of how Found began, please click here.
