Birdie’s story touched many of us. If you don’t remember or have not met her, here are some photos of her when she first arrived at Found. Birdie was a bait dog for dog fighting, one of the worst kind of dog abuse. Many of them don't make it after the first round – sometimes those are considered the lucky ones.
Birdie was first picked up by Animal Care & Control on a porch of an abandoned house where she was tied up and covered in scabs from head to toe. Her brother was also tied up next to her but unfortunately he did not make it. Shortly after we spotted her at ACC, she was brought to Found for rehabilitation in hopes of a second chance at life. We can only imagine how much pain and torture this poor girl has been through. At Found, Birdie stole the hearts of all of our staff and was one of the sweetest dogs we’ve ever rescued despite her past. Birdie was special – she was one of a kind.
A few months later and healthy again, Birdie moved into her forever home with her forever family!! We could not be happier for Birdie's new life. Everyday Birdie is showered with love she never knew existed. She is sweet, gentle, loving and her new parents could not have asked for a more perfect dog. We are so thrilled she is enjoying being a part of a loving family and hope to rescue many more just like Birdie.
